Talk to God about any issues over which you are confused, as the Scripture promises He gives wisdom liberally to all who ask (James 1:5). Commit your way to Him and trust Him to fulfill His plans for your life.Repent of any sins that His Word has unveiled to you.Ask Him for help in any area where you need His power.Thank Him for His promises and principles. Now, at the conclusion of your study, you can once again agree with God’s Word in prayer. If you’re like me, you likely spoke with God before your Bible reading, asking Him for the wisdom to understand His Word. Your application may be to apply excellence to your work and trust the Lord to equip you for the task at hand. You might conclude that a job worth doing is worth doing right, and that God inspired His artisans with the skills needed to perform their exquisite craftsmanship. You may reflect that you, like His temple, are also intricately made, put together with the utmost care. ☺ But even harder passages can provide insight into how to live our lives.įor example, this portion of the Bible demonstrates God’s thorough attention to detail. You may need to dig a little deeper, for example, when reading books like Leviticus in its instructions regarding the building of the temple. Accumulating head knowledge alone isn’t sufficient, so this step in the SOAP Bible study method is critical.ĭuring the application step, you’ll identify a nugget of wisdom that you can incorporate into your life to align yourself with the Word of God. Ultimately, the goal of Scripture intake is connection with God and life transformation. Are there repeated words or phrases that add to your understanding of what is being said? Start by paying attention to whom the passage is addressed and who is writing it. It is simply paying attention and noting what the passage STATES. Observation is NOT interpretation neither is it application. This step in the SOAP Bible study method requires you to take time with the passage and really look at what it is saying. The words of the Bible are powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, but if we don’t spend time with them, to understand and meditate on them, they don’t do us nearly as much good. You might find it helpful to plan a month at a time, a quarter, or even a year. The SOAP Bible Study Method is a great (and easy!) way to start allowing God’s Word to cleanse our minds and hearts. One of my favorite passages to pray in the morning is Psalm 51:7, which says, “ Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.” The SOAP Bible study method is a popular method for diving into God’s Word and it’s easy to see why! Once I removed all of them, the Select File dialog opening time returned to normal. Thanks to the server issue, I had so many of these white folders that I could not help but notice them. ![]() Fortunately, AutoCAD/Windows gives you a clue that the link has become broken, by changing the folder icon from the manila, "3D" folder to a flat, white folder. What made the performance on Wednesday exceptionally bad was that the server on which projects started in 2011 were stored went down today, and I had a number of shortcuts to folders on that server. This turned any shortcuts to these project folders in AutoCAD into broken links, and waiting for these to time out was what had been causing the delay in opening the "Select File" dialogs. I have been short on hard drive space on my computer for the last year or so, and have occasionally made DVDs of my personal project folders for older projects and then removed them from my hard drive. Unfortunately, I am not always diligent about removing older ones. I make extensive use of the fact that AutoCAD allows you to save the current folder in the "shortcut bar" at the left side of most "Select File" dialogs, such as the one that appears when you issue the OPEN command. I was about to give up, when the problem planted itself right in front of me and amazingly enough I recognized it. Things were so bad that after I completed the task at hand, I took the time to check out each reference, but did not find any problems. ![]() I suspected that somewhere in my Options I had a bad file/folder reference or a folder that had a broken Windows shortcut in it. I was not experiencing that issue in ACA 2014. If the user could enter values that would be invalid, such as zero or negative values for a length parameter, or a value outside of the range available for the object, you can add one or more additional instance parameters and use a formula to assure an invalid value is not used.Īs an example, I created an upside-down "T" shaped Generic Model Family, where the length is restricted to 6" increments, while the width can be any value. But what if the object you are modeling only comes in specific increments? How can you prevent the end user from entering a value that is not available? You can add another instance-based parameter and by entering a formula, you can round the user-input value to the desired increment. ![]() Using an instance-based parameter allows you to do so, as this allows the end user to set the value as needed on each instance. ![]() There are times when you are creating a family to represent an object that can have multiple values for a particular parameter, such as a length, that you would prefer not to create a type for each possible length. ![]() ![]() The Mailspring ID is a core component of these Pro features and a lot of exciting stuff on the roadmap, like team templates, read receipt analytics and shared folders. Launching it and polishing the new C++ sync codebase is just step 1. The roadmap and website are still being assembled, but there's some really cool stuff in the works. The goal is to use revenue from subscriptions to pay maintainers (myself, possibly other folks!) to maintain Mailspring indefinitely and/or put bounties on popular feature requests. The pro features still cost money ($8/mo). All of these features have been re-implemented to run locally on your computer. It still has the same great pro features, like snoozing and send later, but doesn't send your email credentials to Mailspring servers. She enlisted a glitzy producer, Phil Ramone, and worked with a small combo for a decidedly non-glitzy label, Lost Highway. He doesn’t sing as well as either one, so wisely lets his guitar carry almost all of the musical conversation.
